Rebecca Hotchkiss RVN
Head Nurse
Originally from Redcar, Rebecca has worked all over the country during the last nine years. She trained at a referral hospital in Cheshire and then moved back to Redcar to start working at Marske in February 2010. She has a keen interest in dentistry. Rebecca shares her home with four cats – Rodney, Monkey, Tabitha and Moomin. She enjoys music, especially seeing live bands and festivals, travelling to different places around the world and playing pool.

Bridget Hodgson RVN
Bridget studied at Myerscough College in Lancaster where in 2015 she achieved her degree in veterinary nursing. She completed her student placement at our practice and after graduation became a full-time member of the team. Bridget loves all aspects of nursing, as nursing ill patients flows in her blood - she is a fourth-generation nurse in her family, however, she is the first veterinary nurse! Bridget is the proud owner of five dogs, two ferrets, two canaries, two budgies, several ducks and two goats. Her animals are her hobby and she shows her pets at local country shows, so look out for Bridget at next year’s Kildale show.

Kate Boal
Animal Nursing Assistant
Kate was born and bred locally and came to work at Marske when Prince Charming was in the charts. She has had many animals during her life. Some have been temporary visitors but many have stayed. Kate currently has five cats (three of which just turned up) and one dog. Her hobbies include reading, music, dog walking and observing wildlife especially wild birds. She also claims to do a good impression of a couch potato due to great age. Kate enjoys working with X-rays, running the blood testing machine and is keen to learn more about pet behaviour.

Sharon Cooper
Animal Nursing Assistant
Sharon started at Marske Veterinary Practice in 1991 working as a nursing assistant. She has tried office work in the past but missed working with animals so much that she returned after a few months and is still here. She has two German Shorthaired Pointers, Gunnar and Teal, a cat called Barley who was brought in with his stray mum and brothers and sisters as a four-week-old kitten. Her hobbies are her family and pets, along with walking and horse riding.

Julie Rutter
Animal Nursing Assistant
Julie started working at Marske in 2008 after completing an animal management course. She has dogs at home and has previously owned a wide variety of pets. Julie loves taking her dogs for walks especially in the countryside. She is currently an animal nursing assistant but is aiming to become a qualified veterinary nurse. She also has an interest in animal behaviour.
